Rebecca Black menarik perhatian banyak orang di internet dengan merilis single popnya yang berjudul “Friday” di tahun 2011. Video musik tersebut melambungkan gadis berusia 13 tahun ini menjadi selebriti setelah video tersebut menjadi viral, mencapai hampir 167 juta penayangan di YouTube.
Penelusuran untuk Rebecca Black dan penelusuran terkait seperti Rebecca Black Friday melonjak lebih dari 10.000% antara tahun 2010 dan 2011, menjadikan penyanyi pop muda ini sebagai penelusuran yang naik daun Nomor 1 di Google pada tahun 2011.
